And you only Wish this should've happened..! #FischerKarpov Fischer makes 179 demands before he agrees to play Anatoly Karpov in 1975.. The chess authorities consider 177 of them, but Fischer sticks to his demands.. They give him one more concession, but the only one which they couldn't was a change in the scoring structure wherein draws shall not be counted and the Champion having to win 9 games to retain his title whereas the Challenger having to win 9 games. The proposal was rejected; but Fischer wouldn't compromise.. He went on to forfeit his title. "God knows how long he would've been World Champion and would've continue to play beautiful games" - Donald Bryne. What's your take on this? The comment box is all yours.. Do let me know :)
urk

My opinion is that Fischer would have defeated Karpov pretty easily in 1975. I don't think Karpov ever would have become world champion because by the time he could have been strong enough to take the title in the 1980s there was Kasparov.

So Kasparov would have been the next champ after Fischer and there never would have been a Karpov era.

This is not a debate. Karpov would have destroyed him. Karpov is probably the 4th best player before the computer era.
