Bobby Fischer would have been 65 today, March 9th.  Chess Life had a good article on him.  Was My 61 Memorable Games he was supposed to have written a hoax?  Who is the beneficiary of his estate?

Chess is the beneficiary of anything worldly that he left behind. The rest is just stuff!

That Fischer stuff left behind is $1.95 million.

The real Question is where did he go, or where did his spirit or soul go when he took his last breath ??

"Who is the beneficiary of his estate?"

He was married and had a child .. wouldn't they inherit his estate??

2 mil, pittance. I wouldn't even attempt to bend down to pick that up if I saw it on the street, I might hurt my back. Your health is more important, :))- I don't suppose the executors have you in mind Bill? Then you will it to chess.com of course of course :))- It would make sense that it would go to his longtime Japanese girl friend unless he didn't have a will then who knows how the Icelandic courts work? But then again Enoch-Elijah has a valid more important question!

The "61 Memorable Games" book turned out to be a scam by Ed Trice.  See the full story here - http://www.labatechess.com/61_games.html

It may be complicated.  Miyoko Watai of Japan insists they were married in Japan in 2004.  Fischer denied it in a radio interview in 2005 ("we are jsut good friend").  The daughter (7 year old Jinky Young, born May 21, 2001 in Baguio City) is from another woman (Marilyn Young) in the Philippines.  They were not married.  Fischer did not like Russell Targ and his nephews and had a falling out with them after Joan Targ died.  So now everyone is checking out the birth certificate, marriage certificate, and even DNA sampling.  There was no will.  After all this is over, the lawyers will probably get it all.  IRS wants their cut.  I've kept up a little with Ed (Mr Gothic chess) Trice thread.  He once used my name as some evidence.  Found out later he was referring to Bill Hall not Bill Wall.  Bill Hall is the executive director or the US Chess Federation.

What a tangled web and lawyers are sure to cut up the biggest slice of that pie! Where is Jerry Springer or Yoko and the side show barkers to make this really interesting!

I find you very rude.  Bill is a respected member here and his background is excellent.

where as you seem like a moron monalisa

Yeah, it sounds like his relatively modest estate is going to be frittered away trying to determine who gets a share of it.

Uh, not to pollute the thread jtun23, but can you point to the part about this that is rude? It's all full of sarcasm, of course, but that's hardly rude; and even the part that mentions BillWall jokes that the guy would probably donate the $2 mil to Chess.com. Did you read the post?

The only thing rude in this thread is jtun23's second posting: "...you seem like a moron monalisa." Someone is owed an apology; and from my standpoint it's not the estimable BillWall.
