So I was playing Computer4-Impossible today in a 3|2 game, and after around 30 moves it offered a repitition of moves. I was probably in a better position, but I knew I would probably screw something up and lose the game if I kept playing, so I took the draw.
Since my blitz is only in the 1400s (900 below Comp4), I lose nothing when I lose a game, and gain 8 points when I draw, so this draw got me 8 points.
I then played another game, which I quickly lost. But then, the next game I played, the computer offered a repitition after only 10 moves! We were still in the opening in a relatively even position. I accepted the draw and gained another 8 points.
This seems like it could be an easy way to boost rating for low to mid rated players like myself. In the 2nd game I drew against the computer, I wasn't playing spectacularly or anything- just regular opening moves, that a player even in the sub-1000 range could play. Yet the computer still offered a draw right in the opening.
Since this computer is rated 2400, I don't think it should be so easy to draw... it should be programmed to only offered repitition in significantly worse positions.
Yes.
