Yeah you're right, the forums are a dead zone for meaningful debate. The new ruling means that players who enjoy topical discussion free from hate speech, abuse etc are moving onto pastures new.  This site forum is dead, finite, kaput. But, anyone who enjoys xenophobia, homophobia, sexism, racism and general abuse is welcome here. All that stuff has stopped for a while, because some people complained; Staff never picked it up, more than happy with it seemingly, until people objected.......Funny isn't it, how the man in charge of the rule book interprets, and instructs the minnions.
Admin will soon allow it all back on I'm sure once the players who kicked up a fuss about it have all left, and many have with more to follow.Â
They allowed discussion before but now ban anything that resembles political debate, which of course closes down most meaningful topics. Abuse, insult and hurl obscenities at anyone you like, but don't talk politics which argue against those negatives cos Staff will close the thread. Many promising discussions have developed from Staff and players on this topic but it seems that the paycheque silences logic and fairness. They all go quiet. Staff? Admin? Like to comment? Prob best not if you like the wages you're paid to 'follow orders'.

i've seen it where the complainers complain, then staff has to do something about it. Then, staff has to go across the board to make sure nothing has gone under the radar.Â
yes, now it will die down, then pick up again..it's like this at my job. someone complains about something, and instead of just going after that one person, they (management) makes up another rule for the whole room. doesn't make sense.Â
Firstplay, there are some serious debates in these threads still...not many, but some.  This thread here? not so serious. Â
 ..and here we have a great example, Withamag, defending the worst attributes of our society, but very welcome on chess.com. Says a lot y'know Staff. What a shame so many of you just can't see it, or are bought off. But, glad t'say, all there for everyone to see. Plenty of other chess sites around folks, decent, that don't tolerate this sort of shady Christian web site stuff.
