Freedom of Speech is an agreement made between the United States government and the Citizens of the United States. It has no connection whatsoever with a privately-owned website, and chess.com is NOT required to abide by whatever rules you believe Freedom of Speech entails.

THEIR website, THEY make the rules.

You already HAVE Freedom of Speech. You can start your own website.

#4 I’m pretty sure everyone already understands this. He’s just saying that our speech is restricted in ways that hides issues. For example, cheating is a big issue at higher levels, but anytime someone talks about it, the forum gets taken down. So although they are not required to follow freedom of speech, for a community this big, it’s expected. Plus, in a world this big, nobody’s gonna go to somebody’s own website just so they can voice their opinions, and they shouldn’t have to. Freedom of speech outside of legality is morality.

#5 It's likely a spam issue in this context. That's why the Cheating Forum club exists.

Yes, because there is a PLACE to discuss cheating.

It's right here: https://www.chess.com/club/cheating-forum

That's not a club for cheaters. It's an OFFICIAL place to discuss cheating, and for discussing anti-cheating measures.

They close "cheating" threads that are posted in the main forum for the same reason that they don't allow game-bragging threads in the Help-and-Support forum.

They don't BELONG there.

I was unaware of the cheating forum at the time. After confirming, I apologize, and concede my argument.

The forums are for chess discussion, not to complain about cheating
You can go to the cheating forum club or report a member for that, I think

Legal jargon . . . blah blah blah.

We're not talking legal stuff.

We're talking real stuff, flesh and blood stuff.

Freedom of Speech is the birth of the United States, no not a country, a nation, from the root nation = birth. It is the the birth of an idea. That idea is made flesh in the nation, in that Biblical sense.

Freedom of Speech is who we are.

Tennis Warehouse banned me, for no reason.

Every year I call them to tell them I won't be buying anything from them.

I've have the Freedom of Speech too. And as the saying goes "Money talks." I'm talking with my money.

Dude, discussion of cheating IS allowed on chess.com. Just not in this forum. It's the same reason a topic like "hOw dO i gEt GiRLfRiEnD" is not allowed in this forum, but could be made in the off topic forum.

And nobody complains when a topic like that is locked.
