I don't own Fritz, but desktop game apps of its era typically store game data on text or binary flat files. So one thing you could try:
Look through the game's file tree for files with a modify date matching the date you last played. Copy them to a safe location. Reinstall. Replace the files that you saved. Start the game. And maybe you're in luck.
This worked with games like Sid Meier's Civilization, just a few years ago.

So Fritz 13 has suddenly become a little quirky, and I thought I would try the simplest solution first and just uninstall it then reinstall it. But I don't want this to delete my database of games. I can't seem to find anywhere where it says anything about this. So will it be safe for me to do this uninstall and reinstall? Thanks, Tim
