Yes that will definitely weaken the program.
It may be interesting to know exactly how many Elo points will be lost with such a configuration.
However instead, I suggest you could use the much stronger engine Stockfish.

Hello,
Recently I decided to move from Windows to Linux (Fedora 😉). The only thing that holds me back (a bit) is my licence for Fritz 14.
I will be running it via VMware because wine isn't running it.
The question I wanna ask: What will be the effect of it in elo-rating (or the semilar to chess engines) when I run the vm with less available ram-memory and less cpu-cores (thinking about assigning 2 out of 4 cores; fritz used to run with 3 cores in settings)
