From Tactical Motifs to Strategy

Greetings,

I still consider myself very much a beginner at chess, so I hope that my question is clear for everybody. I have been practicing my tactical motifs, and it's been very helpful.

I am now trying to transistion from the tactical motifs to using those motifs effectively in real games. I am having some trouble figuring out how to translate these tactics into situations (board positioning, for example) which will bring about the greatest opportunities to exploit them. Are there articles, books, or any other training material that show how one can do this?

Thanks!
