These and all other matters will be duly addressed when I become president.
Game ABORT
with all due respect queenneha, I understand your point, but in no way am I 'asking for fruits' as you say, I am merely wanting to opt out of the game if my opponent does not make his first move. Basically what you're saying is, if you sign on the internet to play a nice 30 min game, and your opponent is clearly not at the keyboard when the auto-challenge is finally accepted- you are prepared to sit there for 60 minutes staring at the computer waiting, and hoping that he may return to play? You are given no points, or 'fruit' for a game with zero moves. I feel your obligation of fulfillment you speak of is only pertinent once a game has started (hence making a blunder and signing off instead of resigning or continuing. Thanks for your input.
The server is supposed to automatically abort if the on move one either player takes more than 10 seconds to respond... Maybe it is your settings you using YaY (YtoICS) or winboard or some other platform?
ah yes. In that case I believe we are in full agreeance. Nothings annoys me more than sour apples signing off in disgust because they messed up (okay, maybe there other things that annoy me like international war, famine, wife beaters..but it ranks right up there!), and I make sure no matter how bad of a day I am having to always hit the friggen resign button

I didn't see anything pertaining to this, but I apologize if the solution to this is duley noted elsewhere:
When I submit for a live game and the person I'm paired with is not paying attention, not at his electronic device, or just generally MIA... After msging them a heads up and waiting about 15-20 seconds I abort the game as I don't want to sit there and waste my day wondering if he'll grace me with his play or not when I could just start another match instantly.as such, I receive warnings from the fair play policy saying my abuse has been noted. something to that effect. But really, shouldn't it be the other way around. If you are late to a chess tournament, I don't believe they punish the person who got their on time.
Is there a way to dispose those games properly? must be missing something, yes
