Game Aborted?!

I was playing rapid awhile ago and I can say I was winning since I was a piece up and the opponents king is misplaced and suddenly I went for a check which could have ended the game since after the only move, I would check him again and only way put is by covering the king with the rook. And suddenly the game stopped and I thought he resigned but it said game aborted. It was already above 20 moves, how the heck was the game aborted?
Yep I just had the same thing happen 40 moves in, +4 up. IOS 10

Same thing just happened to me. Now my system won't even start a new game. Does anyone know why this happens?

This gives me diarrhea. Server restart. Big signs saying "Server restart". But we all know the truth, aliens hacking the site causing mass confusion.
Only on android platform you see the notification about server is restarting in ... , but on IOS you don't get anything
Yeah, same thing with me, just had a 45/45 game aborted, 25 moves in having already put a lot of effort into the game. So frustrating.
Is there any regular schedule for site server restarts, so I can avoid starting a long game around these times?
