Did Carlsen make an idiot off himself?

seems Carlsen was gloating in victory........happy he did not expend a ton of energy trying to win Game 12,  watch it peter out to a Draw and have to contest the speed games.    as then Fab could have a psychological advantage -- as Carlsen tried hard and could not make progress.

when asked again, I doubt Carlsen would say "stupid" in reference to former WC comments on game 12.    He was just very emotional after sweeping the speed games 3-0.

Beautiful strategy by Magnus.

He said it with a laugh and a smile, and the audience laughed after he said it. The raw quote is misleading.

Carlsen just successfully defended his World Championship title, for the third time.

With idiots like that, who needs genius??

Carlsen is like Mohamed Ali, The Greatest, and the greatest mouth too, it comes with the territory

Magnus did not make an idiot of himself. The WCC Tiebreaker system made an idiot of itself.

I am sure Carlsen was thinking about everone that had opinions on what was best for him. Carlsen maximized his chances to win the match. Simple as that. That is what every move in chess is about. And as for Caruana he did the same when accepting the remis. Caruana ended game 12 and sealed his destiny to the rapid.

Why didn't Caruna win in 12 classical games? Because he couldn't!

This is the problem when a Child is raised with only Chess as a vocation to the exclusion of all else. The result is one where the individual is left with no social skills, a lack of empathy, immaturity, all these traits Magnus has in abundance. Magnus has no historical awareness of what the World Championship signifies, nor does he care to learn. That glib comment about Kasparov and Kramnik is just typical of him. Unfortunately his fans love it and encourage him to say these type of things. The moderator for the event was so feckless, it was embarrassing. He never called him out on anything. It was nauseating to watch.
