Flagging is part of the game since time is such a huge factor. Spamming draw offers isn't though. If there isn't already one, I would like a setting where you can decline all draw offers without having something pop up and having to click it.

This. I guess this thread proves chess players don’t have a high IQ, because simply reading my post anybody could see I said I don’t have a problem with flagging, it’s spamming draws to attempt to trick your opponent in accepting one and using it as a tool to distract him is weak and disgraceful

Yet the title is "DISGRACEFUL DIRTY FLAGING !!!!! "

My bad, I should’ve known people here can’t read paragraphs and only title surf

Wow this guy seems like a bad person. Offends those who don’t agree with him. Cant stand others saying he’s done something wrong. From other threads I’ve seen you to be a nice person, but this completely reveals a dynamic I hoped wouldn’t exist.

@Viznik from what I've seen on the forums and in Beginners and Masters you're generally a wholesome person, but this changes my perception of you online. Can you explain as to why you're shaming someone (no offense intended) because they sent a ton of draws? I haven't done so considering the same thing has happened to me many times, as well as stalling, false accusations, etc. Please don't assume that everyone is condemning you, we're disgusted at the way you've treated your opponent for this slight, that's all...

all I did was call him out for using the offer draw button as a way to cheat😎🤷‍♂️Wasn’t aware it was against the rules to use names

If you're playing on mobile of course there are advantages and disadvantages. For example, you have touchscreen to help you move faster, but you can't stack premoves. Another tradeoff, so to speak, is not being able to see their clock when a draw is offered. So? This doesn't change the fact that just moving is all that's necessary to decline the offer, and therefore his/her spamming is just an inconvenience and not something that should be posted on the forums.

Not ignored, people aren't replying, that's all...

A poster that doesn't know the rules, tries to expose a different poster for not following the rules.

Irony.

Any reason for this post? I believe this is pretty obvious to all of us. Does @Viznik really need to be muted/banned for this though?

100% agree with this

That wasn’t meant in an insulting way, but actually, you are the only one here who understand how the draw system works

Hahaha no offense taken or implied. Also, I've been on chess.com for a scant 2 years, and only really active these past months. However, I've been playing chess for over 8 years now so I think I know how to draw... and etiquette and that sort of thing...

DasBurner

yeah if you move it automatically declines the draw

Viznik wrote:

Also to add, at the time I wasn’t aware you could just leave the draw offer open, I kept declining because I thought you had to. Regardless, I still think it’s extremely poor sportsmanship to do it

It is but I've seen much worse, for example one person letting the tournament time run out in a position in which they are completely losing... and therefore the game being discarded... another has called me a cheater for beating them twice in bullet... another has spammed draw offers and didn't like that I refused... this isn't the only example of such things.

That's how I decline in blitz and rapid. An opponent did this but I wasn't looking and had sounds off so I never noticed they sent the offers...

I don’t disagree with you, it’s a shame people on here are taking this thread out of context. I was simply complaining about how my opponent didn’t respect or have any sportsmanship and used an online feature (draw tool) to try to trick me and distract me. I wasn’t aware it was against the rules to name names, and I have removed his name from the thread, however, it isn’t cause for people to say I’m sort of demon spawn because of it lol

Well maybe the fact that you also insult others who disagree with you and the condescending tone this thread is in could be a reason people start not to like you.

Look, I understand flagging, especially in bullet and blitz chess. But the game I just had against [I removed his name] was a prime example of a disgraceful, and downright terrible sportsmanship, dirty flag attempt. (I say attempt because despite his cheating methods to flag, I still won.) This was a 3 minute blitz game, so while flagging may happen, it’s no bullet game...

What he did that crossed the line was spam draw offers while chain pre-moving. This was not only distracting hearing “ting ting ting” every second while trying not to get flagged by some kid, but also having to decline his draw requests over and over so I could see the damn clock, and having to do it meticulously so I don’t accidentally press “accept”, which was probably his hope. And the bar popping up and down was super distracting. This is not something you could do OTB, it’s only something you could do online chess, and it’s disgraceful.

He should be ashamed, bruh. Dirty flagging is one thing, but spamming draws to distract me while you chain pre-move? That’s low.

He would’ve, had the opponent not “lost the privilege” to draw vs the great Viznik
