I went from 1200 to 1500 from ages 9-10. It's about progression, which I never had much of.

If you started learning as a beginner 6 months ago then its very good happy.png
If you started 9 months ago then also good happy.png
If 1 year ago then not so good sad.png
I had a rating of 700 online 2 years ago, now I am 1650happy.png So if 2 years then........

Hikaru Nakamura had a rating of 600 after his first tournament, so the 873 player is ahead of schedule! Seriously, the early rating of a child is pretty unimportant. What matter is whether or not you’re improving. As you continue to play and study, you should see rapid improvement and rating gain. But an 873 rating at this point is just fine

mine is around 1300

I'm nine

it is a good rating for a 9 year old. I have a rating of 1900 uSCF for a 9 year old but, i really love the game and have been studying every single day

Again, Why people are not understanding the age doesnt matter?? If a person is 15 but has started just a month ago , would you say that 750 online here is bad for him? But if a person is playing since 6 years and has a rating of 1600 here would you say he is a good player??

by casually, i mean not practicing at all(maybe 1 hr a week) and only going to classes. i did that about 2 or 3 months before i started playing seriously.

You said you started playing seriously 2 years ago?
