Is it bad sportsmanship to let your opponent time out in a drawn position?

His idea of winning on time is part of the rules you agreed to at the start of the game. So his way of winning was legit. You lost on time...

That's not the point of the discussion. The discussion is about whether it is poor sportsmanship or not to do this.

It is not poor sportsmanship at all. What happened to you has happened thousands of times before--not just to you.

On another site, in one game, i had an overwhelming advantage in material and a mate in one--but--before i could deliver the mate--i lost on time.

Kudos to my opponent who was able to play fast enough to beat me on time!

Losing on time is part of any serious chess game in the past 50 years. It is part of the rules.

If you have a tenancy to lose on time--play slower time limits or use the Fischer system so you are allotted the extra time you may need.
