Is trashtalking allowed?

no it is not normal, I would block those kind of people. I don't know how to report them but I think that is also possible

I thought trashtalk is the best thing about online chess, isn't it?

Looking at your profile, either you are sandbagging or cheating. Your opponent was right to block you.

excuse me? I'm not cheating, and what is sandbagging? I blocked my opponent because of the private messages i recieved. Next time just say i played well instead of accusing me of cheating

You should just enjoy the fact that you dominated him so badly that he was reduced to the point of going mental, and the only way for him to massage his battered and bruised ego is to just resort to downright abusing you.

If anyone tries trash talking me,  I just threaten to go round and f### their mother. Unfortunately one 65 year old called my bluff on that...

Hi! I just played a match against a player rated about 300 points higher than me, and he was in a very lost position. So he started to send a lot of inappropriate and mean messages in the chat, and he let the clock run out instead of resigning. i had to wait 15 minutes.. Then afterwards he kept sending private messages, very very ugly messages. Is that a normal kind of behaviour on this site? And is there a way to report it or something?

You can block him and disable chat. If it gets worse, you can report abuse by hovering over the help button on top happy.png

I'm curious though on the comment about you cheating and sandbagging? What is sandbagging, and why would someone suggest you were doing either?

maathheus

It happend to me once, no trash talking, but my opponent let the clock run instead of resigning. I sent an email to the support, they replied that to punish those cheaters, they match them just with other players that do the same cheat, a kind of purgatory

Sandbagging is where you lose games on purpose so that your rating goes down. There can be some nasty surprises when a 300 blitz rated player all of the sudden beats a 1700 or so. From your games you weren't doing this and definitely not cheating
BlargDragon

I like to literally talk trash. I've dug some amazing things out of dumpsters, and they're worth sharing. Surprisingly, this gets me blocked just as quickly as when I hypothesize about my opponent's lineage.

That is not trashtalking my lady...
