If you have access to apps, AnalyzeThis with the Stockfish 8 engine is a superb analysis tool and it's free. I bought the premium app largely to support the author. For opening analysis, I use the Chessbase app. Besides this I user the CT-Art tactics training app. That's about it. I watch lots of Banter Blitz on YouTube to learn the art of thinking like a GM.

Don't pay for an engine. Stockfish is free and insanely strong. The only reason to pay for anything better than Stockfish is if you're already a Master.
