Getting a pawn across

Many times when i get a pawn accross and at the game is close it is not feasible to take the queen because ofthe crappy way this site has programed their game. if you are .2 seconds ahead and just need the queen to check mate your opponent I have to double click on the piece (usually queen ) to get it. My clock does not stop even though it is no longer my move as i have just moved my pawn to my opponents border. During the selection time my clock in bullet is still spinning and I loose critical time. This seems to be about as logical as the Germans and French comengling their currencies with broke socialist countries via the EURO. Is this normal or just poor programing on the part of chess.com? When the game is very close i will not take the queen as it will cost me the game when I just positioned myself to get another valuable piece. I would like to compensate this site for the use of it but i just cannot pay for something this stupid and senseless. What is the correct way for this to be structured ie the clock stops when you put down your pawn and the game resumes when you get your piece and it is then your opponents move?

You can set it to autoqueen, so that when you do that, you don't have to choose a queen. Unfortunately, this can lead to stalemate once ina  while, which is unfortunate

Can uou tell me how to set it? i just lost another one not 15 minutes ago.

Sounds like you are simply losing on time and don't think it's fair. There's nothing wrong with the site.

In some rare ocasions, queening instead of underpromoting can lead not just to stalemate, but also to defeat. Here is an example:

Of course, if you are playing really fast games, it is better to take the risk and just set it to auto promoting to queen. Situations like the one above are very rare.
