Hi everyone I’m reasonably new to chess and not very good at it either. Does anyone have any tips for me to get better?

Play long time controls and analyse your games to look for mistakes

I recommend doing puzzles. At first they’ll be difficult to complete but after your brain gets used to pattern recognition you’ll start getting better. I also advise doing the free lessons provided by chess.com and watching Gotham chess or Hikaru over Youtube.

Most importantly, learn some basic openings and develop them as your rating in chess increase
