gg

I don't know about anyone else, but when someone gives me the gg after a game is over I appreciated.  Having said that when people do it before the game is over I find it insulting, kind of rubbing it in your face.  When that happens, I think the other player is just being smug and it is poor etiquette.  Anyone else have thoughts?

Yes, kaynight keeps a notebook and records a tick mark every time one gets posted.

gg before the game is over isn't the nicest thing to do, but far from the worst. Wink

gg after, absolutely.

gg! Cool

I always tell my opponents GG when they are crushed.

If the game is still being played it acts as a nice que for them to know to resign.

If they chose not to I am more than happy to demonstrate end game techinque.

I am a rare breed of chess player.

I do not get upset when my opponents don't resign lost position's.

I get excited.

I love demonstrating knight + bishop mates.

I love mating with 2 bishop.

Needless to say I have a sadistic chess forum.

If you don't want me to say good game to you during the game stop playing blunders.

Pompous ass...Just saying.

I do not consider it being pompous.

I consider it being confident.

Sorry if this (gg) is repetitive.  I hadn't used or even looked at the blog on this site before.  But I guess its no surprise the issue comes up a lot.

If somebody says "gg" during the game, 9 times out of 10 you're the one in the wrong, not them.
