Giving up On Live Chess
I'm afraid that is the sum total of my wisdom. However, to avoid blunders I recommend tactics training. After a certain amount of training yourself to look for opportunities for yourself, you become more aware of your opponent's threats. The tactics trainer here is good and I believe you can buy standalone programs (and books)

thanks man!
by the way, gmjoey1 on here seems to be a decent drinker haha so maybe itll work for me some day ;)
Np! You're a diamond member so you've got unlimited use of Tactics Trainer. Do 20 or so puzzles a day and the blunders will start disappearing

I agree. I feel like giving up live chess. The blitz games I play on chess.com are of much lower quality than my OTB blitz games. Not sure why. Maybe I concentrate better when I can see my opponent. I don't know.

Yes ive come to the same conclusion. Its something about OTB that makes me actually want to win haha. On here, idk. Its very different
Hey guys! I'm finding it difficult to play live chess, regardless of the length of the game. I find myself losing concentration during games, and making silly blunders that would not usually occur. I'm hoping this doesnt affect my real life chess skill. How do you guys focus on live chess? I want to practice and get better but i find it too hard to focus through an entire game. Any suggestions?
