GM RikiGate

3. Hikaru(or any other top GM) has nothing to proof or gain by playing payers rated 500+ points below him. He does this to give beginners and established players a chance to play one of worlds best.
Meh, probably not. It's fun to crush weaker players. That, or if chess.com pays him, is why I'd guess he plays.
Also Rikikits is not 500+ points below Hiraku lol.
Obviously there were some bad manners by Hikaru... which, by the way, would be par for the course.
He's also been known to accuse his opponent of cheating when he doesn't win by a large enough margin.
I'm not saying I know whether or not his accusations have been true. He's much more qualified than me... but this plus arrogance doesn't leave a good impression.
Hikaru quit after 2 bullet games vs Yaacov saying he was frustrated. He just had had a bullet session with Riki and said his style of play annoys him. Thats all I know. He might have said more, Idk.
I've seen that multiple times.
"You want to play this trash opening against me? Ok, no more games for you. That's why you don't have a real title"
etc etc

I don't understand. Had Nakamura said something before?
I do not know if something was said in their private chat. What I do know is that Naka's response was very professional.(as seen above).
Riki knows very well Naka has to fight for the Worlds Championship in a couple of months. To say something like that can make someone very insecure. I think a comment like that is mean and below par.
Well Riki, I have got news for you.We all know why you will never win the world championship as well. Same reason why I am not going to win it :) Only difference between you and me is that I have not devoted my life around chess.

Rikkibits is right. I don't know why so few people actually realize how cocky hikaru is lol
Maybe, but it's never good to say that after that cocky person just defeated and humilated you on the board. Sore loser comes to mind.

Spot on. +1

So you just ignore Naka's general attitude, comments, post a shaming thread, insult the GM ... interesting.

"Naka, why didn't you win the Candidates?"
"Well you know I played a bullet session couple of months ago on chess.com against Rikikits, he said I'd never be world champion, so there you have it. Pretty depressing, y'know... it is what it is"

Many more people that are in the chat say these things.(I see them regularly) It's never fun if someone says something like that to you. Everyone deals with these attacks different. When people said stuff like that to me it only made me work harder. I have no idea of the effect on Hikaru. Anyway, never nice to hear.

Dunno about you, but when they tell me I'm not going to be world champion, I just nod my head and continue to play.

I came to know that Naka told Riki that he plays like a fish. And Riki only replied in return. OP showed only a part of chat and not all of it.
Naka insulted someone and got told in return. All good, all good.
Where is your proof? Who told this to you?

Hikaru quit after 2 bullet games vs Yaacov saying he was frustrated. He just had had a bullet session with Riki and said his style of play annoys him. Thats all I know. He might have said more, Idk.
This is not what happened and Hikaru's game log can proof that. You are obviously here to de-rail the posting with unfounded information.
I am always delighted if celebrity top Super GM Hikaru Nakamura plays a couple of games on chess.com. For me it's really nice to see one of the best at work. Yet, there are still some people who find it necessary to trow haymakers at Hikaru after a defeat. Some of you are obviously trying to ruin this unique feature that chess.com provides for me and others.
For those who still not get it let me explain it once more.
1. Some people like to do some sparring with one of the best in the world. This is for some a once in a lifetime opportunity.
2. Some like to see Hikaru play online live bullet chess.

Give the top GM's that visit chess.com respect guys. If they stop visiting we will lose something cool.
Thanks Hikaru, MVL, SO and others for all the great games in 2015. Hope to see more in 2016.
