As chessplayers known, to get to the absolute top, you have to basically start at a one digit number of years age, train really hard, have good coaches early, and then maybe you can be an IM, GM, or even Super-GM, with ratings 2450, 2550, and 2700, respectively. And only Super-GMs really have universally a good income from chess.
The three best chessplayers of all time, Bobby Fischer, Garry Kasparov and Magnus Carlsen, all started between age 5 and 7, got coaches from the start, and showed exceptional skill and dedication to the game.
But GMHikaru has published a video of somebody who is literally stuck at 1100 rating (!!!). Apparently this person had really put his whole time into chess, yet they couldnt improve beyond 1100 (chess.com rating, which overall tends to be higher than Fide ELO).

This just blows my mind. With this extreme amount of dedication I would have certainly expected a much higher rating. Thats certainly a lot more time than for example I personally spent on chess, and I'm currently rated 1300 and climbing.
I guess this really shows how much difference it makes at which age a person starts playing chess. This specific guy seems to only have started as an adult ? The drastic difference this makes is breathtaking.
