Some smart chaps have discovered the source of the problem, it's entirely the fault of v3.

OK, but it works for me and for millions of others. I hope you find somewhere else that works better for you.

i already have, but it's not too late yet to persuade management to change their ways...

What mean "change their ways"??

Throw away 6 years of hard work and put V3 in the garbage??

Impossible, for 2 reasons;

1) V3 is better than V2

2) Haters of V3 is about 2% of the users

by getting rid of the super-heavyweight ads that weigh the site down...

Since you think v3 is so superior, tell me how long it takes you to find the 1500th ranked player on the blitz leaderboard. In v2 it takes SECONDS...

V3 is already for the knackers yard, the code used is also far too heavy, v4 is already in progress

Fabio656

Is heavy for very old systems, like all the other web sites.

I have a medium/bad PC and a good tablet. V3 run perfectly in both systems.

I don't get why people hate v3
This always happened when a site gets a recode
At first you hate it but you get used to it
I used to hate v3 but then I got too lazy to switch back
Now when I go back to v2 it looks unnatural
Same happened to me when YouTube got a recode
I used to hate the new YouTube

And I still do >_>
stewardjandstewardj

@Fabio but that is because you have premium. I have premium and it works perfectly. But what about non-premium members that have ads? They all lag out. I logged out of Chess.com in V3, and the ads caused CRAZY LAG. Never experienced worse lag with good Internet connection before

Exactly, this happened when winXP changed to Win7 .... this happen every time Android change version, this happened when a lot of other sites change face, this happened when facebook changed, and this will happen for every changes of everything.

Every change has a little % of haters, for all, not only for the sites.

It is normal.

i have an 8-core CPU and 100+Mbps line, trust me, 64Mb of adverts (whether you see them or not) is way too heavy...

i've used v3 almost exclusively for almost a year, i'm well used to it. The problem is with the weight of adverts and coding, not with being unfamiliar...

That's the price you pay for having a free service. Adverts on the television are over 15 minutes per hour in some parts of the world. The adverts pay for the service when users choose to remain free.

I am just curious what pc have who have this problems.

Is normal that v2 was faster....was made in old html......

stewardjandstewardj

What PC who have this problems? What are you asking?

Fabio656

My samsung tablet is not so powerfull, and i have NO lags.

A simple question;

Members are over 19 millions, but i think very active users over 2-3.000.000 ok?

Why only a little little little % have this problems and hate v3 posting these topic on the forum?

If these problems was for all, this forum should be extrafull of this topic, or not?

The_Storm_555

and the truth coming up bit by bit...

have you considered the possibility that some people can't find the forums?

Many people don't use the forums at all for numerous reasons, because of trolls and spam, or because they don't speak English

stewardjandstewardj

And don't forget that V3 has only been out for SO LONG before they finally decided to completely switch over

How many people can't reach the forum?!?

Hey, we are talking about of millions of people!

Also if 50% of the people dont speak english or cannot reach the forum. ...there are other millions that can write topics!

The number of users are too big, and the topics against v3 are very few compared to users

stewardjandstewardj

I have been on Chess.com for 3 years, and I not done much more than touch the forums until a couple of months ago

you reckon there are 2-3 million active users on the site, i reckon that's a fair estimate... but i don't see anything like that number use the forums for any reason at all... i reckon there are only a few thousand who do, so something like 1 in 500 or 1 in 1000 members actually use the forums.

The vast majority just use the site to play chess and do nothing else.
