Good in Rapid & Bad in Blitz?

Hi, so as the title says, I'm doing well in rapid and bad in blitz. I have a 7 win streak in rapid, but I also have a 4 loss streak in blitz. Can someone explain why is this happening? Is there a correlation between the two? My games this week are usually a 50/50 combination of 30 min rapid and 10 min blitz. I started playing longer time controls because I have a tournament with a long time control this week.

You're very good player. Playing king's gambit may help you to win a game faster.

Try bullet games for a few weeks. You will be probably wrecked there but do not mind, do it. Then switch to 5 minute blitz games for a couple of weeks. And then go back to your 10 min blitz. You will be much better at using your 17th piece - the clock, with only a little compromise in the quality of the game. And this will improve your time management in rapid chess as well. Like in body building or weightlifting - your record weight or any other single weight is not necessarily the only one to train with.
