I get asked to give a thumbs up or down to my opponent after my games lately, but it doesn't happen every game. Anybody have an idea what it is all about?
I don't think anything has been officially posted, but likely testing out how well a reputation system might work here.
The likely use would be to have pairing pools where players with good/decent reputations don't get paired with those with poor/bad reputations.
Worst idea imaginable.
Open to all sorts of abuse, with false data being generated. I'll wager a great % of players here will give a thumbs down solely on winning/losing rather than any sportsmanship displayed. What of players that never chat? What of players that prefer not to rematch ? "Friends" will be padding the statistics ..on and on. What would this site be coming too making such totalitarian judgments of "separate but equal" pairing pools?

Likely why, based on the first post, it isn't showing up on every game. They could be testing how useful the data may actually be.
The site already does some segregation based on fair play policy and connection quality. I know I have seen a lot of requests in past forums/post asking for a reputation type system. While it might not pan out, there is a chance that more people will give honest feedback, than retributive, and make it useful.

I've also got game analysis counting up my mistakes and blunders, and offering me a chance to find a better move for my mistakes. I've tried using chat a couple of times to compare blunder count with my opponent, but got no reply. Does everybody have that feature, or am I asking for a comparison on something that the opponent may not have?
One could imagine a scenario in future where users are segregated into different playing spheres. Those who say say "gg" after games and those "bad sports" who say nothing at all. I've been playing here for many, many years now, and I can honestly say that I find this form of classification to be a preposterous much-of-a-muchness. Over the more than 10 000 games I have played, not even 0.1% have noticeably been against so-called "bad sports" and even then, it didn't phase me at all. Have we as a community really become THAT sensitive that we should get ourselves all worked up over the apparent absence of contrived little niceties? I sincerely hope not.
If you click on thumbs up, you get prompted to say "good game", thumbs down and you get offered a chance to block or report them
What's bad sport anyway? Someone who relies on time to win a lost game is annoying, but within the rules.
Still want to know if all the free members are getting the blunder and mistake count.
the idea of a thumbs up/down, or, "like" option has been thrown around cc for years. i agree with the posters that have mentioned the potential downsides, of which many have also been referenced in the past.
i really hope this does not become a feature here. in fact, i wouldn't even call it a feature, as i see this type of subjective rating system anything but an accurate representation of our playing competitors.
