lol MEXI , did u do it for real, door to door for religion ?

ok.  thought I un-tracked.  pepette15??  lol.  yea man.  it's exciting but not for religion.  For the sake of Christ and that individuals soul.  In Christianity, the belief is salvation for your soul.  Why wouldn't people who have been saved, who have experienced this amazing event, this life changing moment, want to tell others?  If you don't like it, slam the door. ok.  But from what I know, and when I see someone get saved right in front of my eyes, it is the same every time.  You see that persons persona and demeanor change.  Then it's the learning process.

WE are still the same person but we have Christ in our hearts.  WE still screw up, we still laugh, we still have fun, and still fall into sin and are aware of it, without even having to be told by say, a church or our parents. That is the conviction of the Holy Spirit from our 'faith'.  Since we are God's children, He will not let that (fall into sin) last, He will correct us one way or another. Sometimes it's right away, and sometimes it's years.   Will the christian listen? or will the christian reject? Will the christian confess their sins when they are convicted so they can move forward? I can tell you from my life, every time I humbled myself and confessed my sins, I can move on with a clean slate once again and with humility, with a non judging heart, with love.  It's an every day struggle, with the flesh and spirit because we are born with a sinful nature,(flesh). Jesus Christ has saved us from our sin, past, present and future by dying on the cross, gave us the choice to confess our sins and ask Jesus into our heart (Holy Spirit) and be saved! (spirit).  This is the battle because flesh and Spirit are like oil and water.  They don't mix.

That's the beauty and love of God He shows us.  God knows our hearts and when we try to 'fool' Him.  God knows our sincerity and our pride.  He has shown me through scriptures, through conviction of the Holy Spirit e-v-e-r-y time.

This is what I believe.  On this thread all i've seen really is dtf15 and others basically stand up for what they believe as does everyone else for what THEY believe, hence this thread will never die.   What I am tired of is the hate.  the blasphemy towards what I believe and have faith in.  The mockery.  Not from all but from enough.  What i'm tired of is even the defending of the faith is through judging.  That is not how it should be done.  This thread is back and forth back and forth and it's getting ugly.

I'd much rather have coffee and talk.  i'm not made for these forums. face to face so I can see your soul through your eyes.  Just don't get creepy.

Celot.  lol, su espanol es muy bueno.  mi espanol not so much.  haha.

you poor poor christians dft.  Lord knows no muslims or jews have ever been killed because of their imaginary friends.  Why must all of history pick on the poor, powerless christians?

Its what God changes in people.

We think the same. We are all one in Christ.

geri, you are one sad character. I feel really sad for you.  I pray that one day you will see the light.

And God is not hateful, murderous, or anything else than LOVE. Pure love, and only love.

If He was all that you claim He is, you would already be in hell. Instead of that, He loves you so much that He sent His Son to die for you, and everyone else.

Nobody can love like that. I don't even think its possible to hate as much as God loves. He will never let you go if you accept His gift. Thats what it is, a gift, pure and simple.

You can choose to hate God for all your worth, so much that you ignore all the love He is offering you. And if you continue, you will burn in hell for eternity. You choice.

But I don't believe you're going to be thinking: "see, Gods just as hateful as I said, look at them (Christians) in heaven" (sort of twist of irony, you in hell, madd at the Christians who warned you)

I doubt you will be thinking that. I think you will be thinking: "Why didn't I listen?!? Why was I so hard hearted!?!'' Over and over for eternity. Thats a long time. And it will all be because you refused the most precious gift ever to be given freely. Because you decided to stick to your sin while you could. Because you laughed in Gods face. Because you hardened your heart. Because you decided you didn't need God. Because you despised the strongest love, and buried it in your hate.

don't you remember all the "god murders innocent children" stuff? Children get an automatic pass into heaven which is far better than here.

god is the greatest, most evil, sadistic monster, anyone has ever dreamed up. No,  His choices are for the benefit of the living.

a dragon will just kill you and eat you.

hitler will just kill you and burn you.

but god.....

god will torture you for EVER!  every second of infinity will be a new level of anguish.  That is your choice, if you want it.

god made this torture chamber, god made the rules, god made us to break the rules, because god WANTS us to go there.  God is a vile sadist.  He built a dungeon in his basement and he wants it filled with souls he can torment.

and better me than you dft, I can take whatever that pansy dishes out

and I'll get to meet celot  Why do you insist on being ignorant of the Bible? Oh, I know.  Accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, and then you will begin to understand the scriptures.

Pawnkeeper, if that where true, we should kill all children, so that we know they will get into heaven. I can hardly think you would say that. That would cause pure misery here on earth, especially in jail'

First of all, the Bible never says that. Yes it does. It implies that there is an age of reason. But thats all. No, it does not. Do you believe that all scripture is given by the inspiration of God? If you do, then why don't you believe King David when he said that when his child was killed he would see him in heaven?

Det 29:29  The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law. We are not under the law. We are under grace. A new covenant by Jesus.

But we dont need to worry about that. Because, Ge 18:25  That be far from thee to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked: and that the righteous should be as the wicked, that be far from thee: Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right? ??? What?

Avatar of dtf15

Could you give the refference of king Davids quote?

And my point about Ge 18:25 is that: do we think that God can't judge correctly?

But regardless of whether we are under a knew covenant, there are still mysteries, things known to God alone.

Avatar of dtf15

Also, my point is that : No, of course we should not kill all children even if it where true. (I'm still thinking)

But other people (even unbelievers) might kill their children just to make sure they get into heaven. This is one of the reasons I don't believe God would say this. (but I'm still waiting for the quote)

Avatar of regi-mental

You're still thinking about killing children?

Well at least that's something

Avatar of regi-mental

But I don't hate god.  Why would I?  I might as well hate yoda, or santa, or unicorns.

I certainly wouldn't throw him in a lake of fire, to burn for eternity

why would ANYONE ever do that?

Rom 1:20  For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

21  Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

22  Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

23  And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

This means that they knew God. (everyone does) But they distorted Him to make their own religion.
This is another reason Jesus gave us the great comission.
And yes, the Bible does adress hell more than heaven. (consider it as a strong warning!) I think of heaven just as the Bible says it is.
All of it, no sun, God shining for light, gold streets, ect. Whole thing.

@dtf15: I read somewhere that you're 15 years old. If that is true maybe that's why you have 15 in your username. I'm not gonna waste my time debating with somebody who is so young & inexperienced about the world. I for one spent 33 years in the military traveling around the world. I was even in 2 wars. I've met all kinds of people of different religions and different cultures. When it comes to the religion part they all have basically one thing in common, they all think they have the truth

When I think about it they all also suffer from the sin of hubris.

“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime.” ~  Mark Twain

Actualty I have 15 in my username because I'm an air buff, and I like the      F-15 Eagle.

But, just because people think they have the truth, (and many of them know they do not) does not mean they do.

The truth is very clear to all that truly search for it. Dont take my word for it, look for yourself. (here we go again)

But the Bible is the only book ever written that is perfect. So why would I not put my trust in it?

I am not putting my trust in mans fualty reasoning. I chose to put my faith in the only unfailable book in the universe.

Those who doubt the existence of God... please read this.

http://www.everystudent.com/features/isthere.html

There are real, legitimate, reasonable reasons to believe in God, and by extension, the Bible and Jesus. For true believers, it is not just blind faith.

This one is good too... it is shorter, and just simple logic.

http://notashamedofthegospel.com/apologetics/proof-that-god-exists/

Please guys... atheists, agnostics, religious skeptics... please investigate this. Forget everything that has been said in this thread so far. Read this fresh. It is just too important to pass by.

This collection of flawed thinking and logical fallacies has already be addressed.

How are these flawed thinking and logical fallacies? The cosmological argument, which is explained in the bottom link, is so simple a preschooler could understand it.

1. Something exists. Almost everyone agrees on that.

2. Everything that exists, that happens, has a cause, or causes. I did this because of so-and-so, this happened because of that, I ran out of gas in my car because I didn't refill the tank, we hear a noise because a sound was made, you are here because you were born from your parents, your parents were born from their parents... eventually, if you go back far enough, there has to be a First Cause. The furthest back we can go is the so-called Big Bang. What caused that? It could not just have happened with NOTHING causing it. Stephen Hawking's statement, "Because the law of gravity exists, the universe can and will create itself out of nothing" doesn't make sense, because "the law of gravity" is not nothing, it is absolutely something. Ok then, what caused the law of gravity? Did gravity always exist? If it did, then IT is the uncaused First Cause, and by definition, IS God! God, as the uncaused first cause of existence, HAS to be something. If it is not the God of the Bible or other religions, it has to be the laws of physics, gravity, some as-of-yet-undiscovered universe-generating mechanism that spawned our universe... SOMETHING! The multiverse theory only compounds the problem, because all those universes had to come from, to originate from, something.

What caused the Big Bang? What was before the Big Bang? Science cannot answer that. And if it ever can, what caused that!? The problem never goes away.

Avatar of dtf15

iMac chess, i did answer your post. You said that all religions think that  theirs is the right one.

And I said that since the Bible is the only perfect book ever written, why would I not believe in it?

Sooo, since the Bible is the only true book, is it not safe to assume that since the Bible (a perfect book) says that it contains the only way to worship God.
