They don't move off their 1200 rating until they play rated games (i.e. NOT including their greeter games).

That was quick ! Even for you ! Thanks artfizz... so I can advise them to look for another 1200 to set ball rolling, or is there another avenue ? In fact I have already played a few 1200 folk taking a chance on heavy rate loss to myselfl in the interests of helping the site. Thought there might be a Greeter Progamme that only altered the rating of the new member. Hmmn.
Just tell them to use the 'open seeks', since it automatically limits the seeks to +/- 300 glicko point range.
Thank you bjazz and paul211 agree it is not about points rated however you can also make yourself ineligible for some competition ranges you may have been contemplating to join; one of main reasons why folk avoid the 12ves.
Only incentive then for Greeters is kudos or site-cred?
(IE, like street-cred) ? Personally certainly need to re-structure site-cred !!

If I do go on to other games may I entitle them say, Altrustic art ?
When greeters agree to play unrated games, how do the new members get a rating? Have just started my first greeter game... but regret to say I can't answer such a qestion... probably one of the first I will be asked... HELP !
