No one (not me at least) said anyone was right.

But the invasion of Israel was a just war? And the further retaliation is also irrelevant?

Avatar of Kaeldorn

To me, that one conflict Russia vs Ukraine, is very much (again...) between thugs.

Avatar of Kaeldorn

As for what's going on with Israel and, it's VERY complicated. People usually have got a vey simplified vesion of the story, if from one side or the other.

Avatar of Cold_W1nter

I 100% agree and wish it was that way, alas it's a public platform so it's impossible to avoid. And it's honestly not political to mention that it's tragic that we consider personal attacks to be a proper way to treat another human being

Avatar of Kaeldorn

I'm not sure it's a political discussion when I'm trying to convince people they should avoid taking side (and action) for things they don't fully know and/or understand. I do believe it'd be a political stance if I was pointing the finger at a faction, but I'm not.

I don't think anyone was, we're all trying to be polite here I believe

Yeah, a good thing for sure.

You’re never too old to change, Kaeldorn. Anger and hatred are like a poison for the spirit. It’s very easy to let it consume you. I hope one day you find the strength to overcome it.

Anger and hatred does nothing like you said, when it's directed toward evil things. You just can't love a thing without hating its opposite: it's the two sides of the same coin. To give up on that is to die, to become a zombie.

Like one said once: "loss of money, common loss, loss of honour, noticable loss, loss of passion, fatal loss."

And so, then you're confused, thinking I'd be hating anyone for hating avoidable stupidity, freewilling ignorance, two tier judgements and all the like. Understand it or don't: I'm trying to save us from the shayte.

Now I'm mad at my stupid blurry eyes. Grrr.

Also, like an otha famous dudez said once "In order for evil to triumph, all it takes is to have good pipl do nuffin".

Well, not that I'd be any good pipl tho

I mean there’s a difference Russia just straight up invaded a country because they felt like it Israel actually has a just reason, they’re counterattacking after a Palestinian assault on them

And Hamas attacked Israel out of the blue and took hostages, the following retaliation was swift and brutal just like any war. That's no ample cause for discrimination of the people on any side. Do you think every Russian individual agrees with the war and that's the sole reason they wear their flag proudly?

The problem was it sort of became a genocide against hamas besides want Hamas being boxed in anyway ? I'm not tryna argue wether or not they are right but I thought that was Hamas retaliating against something then Israel started to be even more cruel im not sure anyone is in the right in that situation at least in Ukraine vs Russia we know who started it

I can't try to set a proper starting point to it all without having lotsa pipl yellin at me. But I'll try to give out, as a help that is probably not complete, the chronology of the roots of the problem:

Around 2500-1500 before Christ, the people of Israel, arriving from Egypt where they were enslaved, conquered to the Cananeans(?) the area we today label "Palestine" (which was for Centuries not a nation nor a people, but a geographic place, like "Scandinavia" and the like).

Before slavery in Egypt (that lasted 400 years), they came from that area anyway.

Then they formed the nation of Israel, eventually divided into Israel and Judea, possibly reunited and redivided a few times.

They also got once invaded and deported by them Babylonians (coming from what we call today "Iraq"). That's known as the first dispersion (diaspora).

They eventually got allowed to return, like a few hundred years before Christ.

Then came the Romans, who conquered them, and made of their land, a Roman province.

Shortly after the death of Christ, the pipl of Israel (aka Jews) revolted against the Romans. Rome, in punishement, deported them in slavery through the whole Roman empire. (second dispersion)

About between year100 and 1948 there was no longer any nation nor country there, just a region controlled by the surrounding Arabs or Persians, the Turcs, the Europeans (who tried with no success to create a "Kingdom of Jerusalem").

While in Europe, the Jews had limited rights, could not posses land nor exert some professions, then were also subject of various types of prosecutions (pogroms, etc), the idea of returning to the homeland grew in strenght among the Jews of Europe then America, starting more or less within the XIX° century. That idea, shared by religious and non religious Jews, got named "Zionism". (Zion be a nickname for Jerusalem, if I'm correct)

But the land was not any longer the greener land it used to be, so, in order to fix that, the Jews created the Kibboutz (community farms) and worked hard to remove the rocks and irrigate the land, when the other local people never imagined that would be possible, and for the reason did nothing such.

Yeah, cos, of course, pipl from all the countries around, came through the centuries, to take the now empty houses of them deported Jews. of course people go where life seems better. They never tried to create a nation tho. Well, until the Jews did.

Right after WW2, as "Palestine" was under, er... "British mandate", and that mandate (sort of International agreement of some sort) came to an end, the Jews living in that place, made a request to the UN in order to form again, the nation of Israel.

Alas, while the UN agreed upon the request, it pissed off the Arab people in and around the place, cos well, while in the Bible (old testament), it is said Israel would be "resurrected", there is no such promise in the Coran.

And so, the rebirth of Israel made the Bible more accurate in prophecies than the Coran, and that was untolerable to the Muslim religious authorities, and the whole thing got labelled "Work of Satan", and "Punishement from God for not good enough Muslims".

Besides, them Muslims do believe they'd be the new "people of God" after the Jews got punished (by God) and dismissed from that position.... You see the problem. To the Muslims, it's game over for Israel, that should not exist anymore until forever.

Since then (1948), it occured about 4 or 5 wars between Israel and the Arab nations, each time won by Israel. But also, when the UN decided to divide Israel into a Jewish land (Israel) and an Arab land (Palestine), Israel kept colonizing places in the Palestinian areas, with no regards for the Palestinians, (but also to the International laws) which, of course, infuriated the Palestinians.

Them and supportive factions and nations (Iran, Syria...), created then various organizations who's aim was to "free Palestine" from them "evil" Jews: PLO, Hezbollah and Hamas are some of these organizations, more or less militarized and weaponized.

And the Jews have got no remorse to fight off people who have got only one idea: totally destroy Israel and kill all of the Jews. for the sake of having the Coran prevail over the Bible.

So, we've got sincerely infuriated people on both side, and it's probably the most complicated political problem that ever happened on Earth.

I do apologize, btw, in case someone will find some of the things I said about the situations and events in Israel/Palestine, innacurate, false or incomplete. I summarized what I've read and heard, in books, newspapers and magazines all along my life, in about 50 years.

Anyhow, I do hope that you guys & girls now understand why most people are doing a blind and uneducated move, when they take side in that conflict.

Or, more likely, you ignore importants parts of the problem, if by ignorance or by partial thinking. Else, you'll spit out some gruesome joke about "throwing an atomic bomb on all of that, problem solved" which is no new joke and makes of you a sad barbarian.
