Completely uninformed and incorrect as usual.

Incidentally, something sounds especially suspicious about this offer -- why no remuneration of any sort?  If it's a blackmail or extortion situation in which you've gained the upper hand then i say go for it, otherwise I'll join the calls for a thorough background check and an insistence on paying a nominal fee.

There's a list, with the possible exception of Morphy, that spent an inordinate amount of time on chess, all from a very young age.  Fischer, for one, becically dedicated his life to the game up to the point he disappeared.  These were not casual dabblers that just happened to have the potential.  They had the requisite combination of potential, desire, drive, the ability to dedicate incredibly large amounts of time to the game and the resources to gain access to other top level players and coaches.

As I said, uninformed and incorrect.

This list, plus Keres and Fischer before you edited your post.
