Eddie I have the rest of the notation if you want it.
Has anyone had consecutive losses?

lol, I lose many games in a row some times... then I win games in a row. you can get back up to 1800!! :)

So over the last couple months I've lost around 150 rating points, from being 1850 to being 1700 rated, or even slightly below. It's almost as though I've forgotten how to play.. has this ever happened to anyone?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA....I love questions like this.

It's somewhat understandable, until you star getting beat by 12 year olds...then it's just plain demoralizing! Don't they know I can beat them up?!
maybe it is also depending on the psycological way you go into the next game
if you are pessimist, like after many losses, it is easier to lose again
at one point, however, the players you are playing with start to be much weaker than you, you start winning, regaining confidence and optimism, and going up again in rating.
it happens to me all the time :)

Yes, I think it happens to most of us from time to time, and I think most people play worse if they have had a bad run.
I usually try to stop playing for a while if I have lost a few in a row (though I mostly only play blitz) as you can lose points very quickly and get very irritated with yourself.
At least it's only chess; what if you were a gambler, and those points were hard cash? I imagine the psychology is similar.

I went on a 10 game or so losign streak a while back. By the end I was at around 1400. I took about a one month break, came back, and couldn't lose. I'm now 1750 or so. I find that doing something else for a bit, then coming back, is what the doctor ordered.
