Sorry man. I have had two games in the bag that I lost from mouse-slips.
Have you had a mouse-slip decide your game?

I've never had a mouse-slip, but I have clicked the wrong square when playing on my phone.
Kind of the opposite for me. Never really had very bad misclicks on my phone. But on my laptop... eh...

I moved my king one step to the right instead of a castling. That kind of ruined getting the king to safety in that game

In rapid, I had a guy mouse-slip and not finish the queen trade. That being said, I had a decisive positional edge in that game.

There are a few chess moments that are already burned into memory, some good, some bad. That terrible little pawn moving forward instead of killing his opponent...F7...I will remember for at least a while. Stay strong my brothers.

me 2. i once blundered a Q by accidentally clicking d1 and my 555 rating opponent did nothing about it!!! ROFL ROFL

Someone was rushing me to finish my game and I was winning with 2 pawns promoting on the next move, my opponent put his king in front of my king to try and mate with his rook, obviously I saw that but I slid my rook 1 square over to the only square to save the game and I resigned immediately after

It happens to me so much that I think my fingers and mouse are conspiring against me. But I suck at blitz anyways, so I don't take it as serious chess.

I've never had a mouse slip as I use a trackpad to play chess. I just feel like it's more convenient.

i find i lose time and games when the mouse starts getting wobbly will not move properly. this can happen during a move. and the piece drops immediately. i always immediately resign.

My mouse can be a little janky if I don't replace the batteries often enough, so sometimes it will randomly let go of a piece when I'm trying to drag it, which is why I don't drag. I've had a few mouse slips before, but usually it only results in me moving my king instead of castling. In fact, I'm much more prone to "finger slips" when I play on mobile, because my fat fingers sometimes have trouble pressing the right square.
I think I had one game where I mouse-slipped and accidentally played a brilliant move with my knight, but that could just be my imagination. I don't know at this point. I do know that I've had a few games where I won because my opponent slipped at the worst possible time, but I don't really remember any off the top of my head.
A general question for everyone and a story to go along with it.
I bought this gaming mouse a few months ago, and it seems the sensitivity of it can be random. Sometimes it drags, but a lot of the times it is very sensitive. Today it was fluctuating and in my last game, I believe I had 2-3 mouse slips. One was a knight move I was thinking of making anyways, but the last one was a critical moment in the game. My opponent took forever on his move thinking of a way to stop my pawn promotion, and I was calculating 3 variations of moves he could make, all of them ended with me either making a queen or being up around a rook/piece, so I was pretty confident I had it. I clicked the pawn and the move I wanted/needed was fxe7, and the pawn moved forward. F7. My opponent took my piece and now had the new queening square guarded by two pieces. I knew there was nothing else I could do. I sent a message in the chat, but simply resigned.
Feels pretty devastating having a mouse-slip control the outcome of a game. From winning to losing. First time something like this has happened in around 850 games or something with online chess.
Has this happened to you? And can I get some F's in the chat.
