Help identifying chess pieces, any ideas?

Hello folks!  I picked this set of chess pieces up recently and it's intrigued me enough to try and find some background information.

The seller claimed they'd picked it up in the 60's, and the wood certainly had the mothball/age smell until I re-oiled it.

I'm fairly certain they're cast brass, there's a small amount of wear through on the finish of one of the silver pawns. Also confident it's the original case.

The King measures 3.375" tall, pawns 2.75".  Bases are a uniform 1.125".

The only mark on the case is on the top of the latch.

Apart from that, the only information I have is on the insert inside the case.

Any ideas or places to start looking you folks might have would be appreciated, thanks.

My bet is they were made by Italfama.  The info sheet says they were made in Florence Italy, although the printing is so small I couldn't read the whole line.  Italfama is the best known maker of metal sets so even without the "made in Florence" clue that's what I'd assume.  Do an Ebay search for Italfama and you'll see similar sets.  The closest I could find is the Napoleone'.  They may have a web site, I didn't check.  Google "Italfama  Louis XVI" and see what you come up with.  Good luck.

Wrote a letter to Italfama's support, it was a negative on being an old set.  Going to try my luck with the local antique dealers, see if they can set me on track.  Thanks for the suggestion though.
