Rs.73,000 is like $1097.25 it's not logozar's range

I'd have gone for the Lenovo w520 myself. They've got a pretty good keyboard and trackpad. The G-series are the successors of the W-series, and lots of people complain about the newer models.

Don't bother, logozars won't buy it, he is poor from his limited chess winnings

Please, you wouldn't know. I have never met you in real life, and I don't believe we have discussed what I earn.

For the record I have won 2 tournaments in the last year with pretty good cash prizes (150, 125 USD) as well as minor cash for when I don't get first. I coach and make around minimum wage but that is great for me because I am 15 (used to be 14 2 days ago) and don't have to pay taxes.

I have money saved up (over 300 dollars - after I recently bought a bunch of chess books) and I am fine.

Umm, you do have to pay taxes.

Logozar, I keep telling you That because your OTH rating is low, You don't blame the laptop you blame yourself

I want a laptop because I have to return my laptop at the end of the school year and also I wont have a way to watch my chess videos etc (for my brothers too) and I would like to have chessbase if possible.

Also, I agree. OTB training is more important.

Low as in 1753 might be low to some, but considering I was <1100 USCF last january and I have played <50 games to gain the 600-700 points.

Wait a minute... keep telling me? I don't believe you have ever told me anything like this.

Not with what I make. It is only part time. Because I make less than 2-3 thousand a year (or some similar figure) and less than minimum wage I'm ok.

Fine by me as I don't have to "pay the bills" so it mostly just goes back to chess.

German_MagnusCarlsen

So what computer do you think you are going to buy? Have you narrowed the list of options down to only a few models yet?

Unless there's an exception I don't know about that applies to you, you get social security tax automatically withheld from your paycheck, no matter how little you make.

Hi, you can check the link "www.heise.de/preisvergleich" to select the options for YOUR notebook. This site is my favourit to find out what is posssible on the market. If you have found your choice/your notebook, you should search for some special offers, or google it..My suggestion at least 15 inch display, better 17 inch on higher resolution (1920 x 1080 would be nice). but not required for playing chess. at least 1600 x 900 should be supported. good manufacturers for example are toshiba, sony, asus, hp. if you have more questions do not hesitate to ask me

iziani

thepasswordischess

How do you define mentor?

I don't believe you have ever taught me anything.

Satan is lord! Why use an outdated version when you could use Chessmaster 11th edition or even *gasp* chessbase?

Basically any new laptop will do. Don't go smaller than 15 inch.
