There is this chess site for kids that I really liked.
There was this storyline to it too, here is a rough explanation of the storyline:
You are a kid who was invited to join the army (???what???) . You need an excuse to not come straight home after school, so you tell your parents you joined the chess club. Then you have these little colourful buttons to type in your name.
I remember at one point it said something like
"See those red squares? That's your blood.
Just kidding."
