I don't get it. I just don't understand cheating.
I met some random guy once (delivery guy, taxi driver, whatever - I can't remember), and the topic of chess came up. He spontaneously confessed that he played on-line and cheated using a chess engine.
I was stunned. I mean, what's the point? Where is the pleasure in winning if you cheat? I just don't get it.
There are only two motivations to play chess (that I understand)... Love of the game and/or money. If one cheats for money, well that is simply criminal behavior. And if you are willing to engage in criminal behavior, aren't there easier and more lucrative crimes to commit?
