I have emailed ChessBase support in the USA and also in Germany, but haven't received an answer.
I have ChessBase 14 and a Fritztrainer (PowerPlay 26 Daniel King Checkmate Challenge).
I can successfully use the FT in CB14 on my DESKtop, but trying to play a video crashes CB14 on my LAPtop.
I have also tried using CB Reader 17, but attempting to play a video will also close that program on my laptop.
I have also tried to use one of the "older generation" Fritztrainer DVDs (PowerPlay1 Mating Patterns), but it will also abruptly close CB14 on my laptop.
I have a decent laptop: Windows 10 64-bit Intel Core i7-7500U 2.70 GHz 20 of RAM with NVIDIA graphics card GeForce GTX 950M.
This laptop also has an integrated graphics card (Intel HD graphics 620), but I have ensured that CB is using the dedicated graphics card.
I have tried deactivating/uninstalling all software and reinstalling/activating all programs, but no luck.
I did check, and I am able to play the videos (mp4 files) with Windows Media Player without any issues with audio or video quality. However, again, the videos will not play in CB14 on my laptop.
Also, CB 14 is working well, otherwise. I am not having problems searching games or using it to read Ebooks in ChessBase format.
This is obviously frustrating. I would like to use this sophisticated (and expensive) software on my laptop.
Any ideas? Have any of you run into this sort of problem before?
