Here is why I want to quit chess (at least for some time). Change my mind if you care to.

at the end of the day chess is a board game. if you aren't enjoying it then dont play it.
although before you make a rushed decision to quit chess, i think you should take a break for a little while. read this article about tilt chess, and try to employ some of the tips, hopefully it will help you stay calm when you play.

Perhaps move to casual only chess. Play bots and friends and unrated and do puzzles. Get the brain benefits, none (or less) of the frustration. I mean, puzzles alone are quite fun and good for the brain.

But your home page says:
"It doesn't matter that we are weak chess players."
So, I guess you don't mean that.

Thank you I will check that article. Maybe a temporary break from chess can solve some of my problems.

I agree with you about the benefits of puzzles. I have been neglecting puzzles recently but I will try to solve more of them every day.

Yes I should analyze my games much more often. Thanks

You should always analyze your games, especially the losses.

I had written that in my profile many days before I considered quitting chess. Reading the responses to my post I think my original statement might have some truth to it. Thank you for responding!

Bro I am quitting chess. I like the game a lot! but I hate many things, espesially online chess. Like there are 100s of cheaters cheating freely without any fear, I report them but chess.com doesnt take any step most of the time. Second thing is sportsmanship, This game totally lacks sportsmanship, Today only, I mouse sliped blundered my queen, I begged my opponent to show some sportsmanship and dont capture it, but he didnt care, instead he said I wont leave free queen I am not a mf like you. Third is that the way to improve is just to memorise different positions. Why the fk. I play chess to enjoy not to do puzzles all the day and keep memorising the position.
At last I have played chess for around 2 years, so its hard to leave chess, but 1 thing is sure that this game especially online chess gives me a lot of depression and frustration on regular basis. I QUIT CHESS
Maybe I'll play over the board sometimes but I will never touch online chess ever again!

many people say, Whenever you lose a game stop playing and analyse it thoroughly so as to learn from your mistakes. but does it actually work? No, it doesn't.

It does if you remember what it was you did wrong and try not to do that again.

It's not a change of mind you need, but a change of heart.
Your anger and sadness, that are exaggerated considering what is at stake, comes from hurt ego, which, in turn, comes from pride, root of all sins.
Even if you're not "religious", you need to humble yourself and begin to hate your stupid pride that tricks you into believing you'd be some sort of untouchable god or deity, who will be infuriated by these "unholy" denials of your greatness.
You may want to change the wording of what I'm telling you, but the problem, and the solution, remains the same.

Is there evidence that chess helps the brain?

You should definitely quit. You can still do puzzles for “fun” and still be on the off topic forum. I also have another option I do but I can’t post it u can dm if u wanna hear it I think it would be perfect for you
I could not disagree more with you.
Whenever engaging an activity reveals a flaw in you, it's the golden opportunity to correct that flaw.
Running away from the mirror won't change your face.
