You are probably just imagining things. He probably already had 2 days to move when he went on vacation. Can you post the game?
Here we go gain, Vacation time

Everyone gets an extra two days a month.
edit: i misunderstood, that's simply the time he had to move at the point when he went on vacation. I don't think he's coming back though.
You can't go on vacation when it is your turn on any of your games, so made your in that game while he was on vacation. Because of this, his "2 days to move" isn't part of the vacation time, and only when his vacation time ends, his time to make a move begins.
Very sad to expect winning on your opponent s time.Vacation time exists to be used.I ve seen countless posts here the same nature as yours and i honestly can t understand why so much noise around this issue.

I believe the issue is auto-timeout protection rather than vacation. The two are different but the site does not treat them differently. Some players think auto-timeout protection is an abuse. More players think repeated auto-timeout protection is an abuse. For example a player takes three days/move games but is online every four or five days and invokes timeout protection repeatedly.
There is an official policy for vacation abuse but not that I know of for auto-timeout protection abuse.
The policy does state vacation is to be used "when you are away from the site for an extended period of time.". So repeated use of auto-timeout protection, which is deemed to be vacation, is not honest?

Right TadDude. Players sign up for lots of tournaments, say at 3 days per move, but use their vacation to extend that to 4 or 5 days per move. Then they usually hang on to totally lost games right to the end, extending torunaments by months! That's not what they agreed to by joining the tournament. It's a selfish, disrespectful practice.
I know one member that was just warned. TYVM staff!

If you just wait two more days, and show the patience of a real chess player, you will probably win the game :). Anyway, isn't it more fun to win by checkmate?

That is my point. I am tired of the continual vacation delays/time outs this person has used since August. I just want to get the game over, not looking to win on time. If he would play and beat me then that would be ok, he would have won fair and square. The delays are unreasonable thats all. I was hoping to see the game ended this morning was what I was trying to say. Apparently SMARATTACK I wasn't clear enough for you or THEMOONWALKER. I think waiting for 16 days for one move without any comment is probably patient enough, especially since I have been playing against this person since 13 August. Enough said, thanks to all who made positive comments and suggestions.
I have been playing a young man in a tournament since August. He went on vacation November 13 and all his vacation time ran out somewhere around 2 o'clock this morning. I got up to expect a time out win and find he has 2 days to move? HOW? He did not make a move before his vacation time ran out! I don't understand, but I am old and feeble minded- any ideas?
