"clarification on how RD works"
++ Here is the full explanation:
http://www.glicko.net/glicko/glicko2.pdf
"why I'm only gaining +6/+9 rating per match" ++ You win more and lose less rating against stronger players, you win less and lose more rating against weaker players.
"a ~75% win rate"
++ A 75% winrate indicates you play lower rated players. A normal winrate is 50%.
"with such a high win rate, I'm probably a little underrated." ++ You play weaker opponents.
"My rating however, is going up pretty damn slowly." ++ Because of weaker opponents.
"getting a few more rating points per game" ++ Then play stronger opponents.
Hi! I'm pretty damn new to chess, just looking for some clarification on how RD works. This is gonna be a short post, but I'm just curious as to why I'm only gaining +6/+9 rating per match with a ~75% win rate. I'm definately not fantastic at chess, and usually score between 50-70 ish average accuracy per match.
From what I've read though, I feel like with such a high win rate, I'm probably a little underrated. My rating however, is going up pretty damn slowly. I would've thought I'd be getting a few more rating points per game to level this out a bit.
If it means anything, I started at around 250 elo after my first couple games (after never really ever playing chess much before) and I'm now sitting at around 450.
Thanks for any input!
