2700chess came out with an interesting idea.

I didn't know Moro was so close to Super Ultra GM club (2800+). Also seems that Kramnik was actually kind of at his peak for my 18th birthday.

You rarely hear people talking about Aronian, and yet he's the 3rd highest rated player of all time.

Kasparov only plays chess recreationaly now. So Carlsen wont have the chance

I noticed that 11 of the list are dated from within the last 5 years, unlike the 2nd (Kasparov - 13 years) and the 13th (Fischer - 31 years)

It seems that the Elo rating is constantly increasing. Maybe the higher number of chess players nowadays explains that?

I remember somebody reached 3000 in lightning at one stage

It likes Elo rating inflation. lol

Seriously high ratings... everyone under 2000 is just a super super amateur compared to these legends... I suspect after reading this list all of a sudden everyone realizes how crap they are, perhaps now people can think twice before bad mouthing any titled player o.o
