I'm struggling to understand why people want this. I'm not a very strong player but I know when I'm in check! Do you guys really need assistance with that part of the game?
It's just nice 
. And I'm someone who switches between lichess and chess.com and lichess has it and it's really quite nice. Especially in quicker time controls it can be useful.
It is nice. Sometimes I waste time thinking of moves, then to discover i am in check.
I dont need this but i think it could be handy

Unnecessary and probably bad to add this. Players should look at the board and see what is happening. If you don't notice that you are in check you aren't seeing the board well enough.
I think it's only a great idea in those games against bot options, so new players can understand the game a little more. But definitely not in normal games against people, you should know when you're king is check
BUT IN REAL OTHER BOARD GAMES YOUR OPPONENT SAYS CHECK WHEN THEY CHECK YOU

Agreed.
