holidays

Something I don't understand, why is it when I tried to book vacation it wouldn't let me until I cleared all my boards however, I have an apponent who has 3 hrs to make a move and all of a sudden he is on vacation to prevent the time out. Personally it isn't the fact that he booked a holiday with 3 hrs ago it is the fact that I couldn't until I cleared all my boards. anyone with any ideas?

Paying members have auto-timeout protection, regardless of whether it's their move in their games or not - but I can see how it poses a problem whereby you are unable to go on vacation because of this. Maybe they can resolve it easily by stipulating that you have to make a move in all of your games except for the ones wherein your opponent is already on vacation?

Thats fair enough and thanks for letting me know although I consider it to be unfair on non paying members. Yes I know you will say pay the membership and you will be ok however, I would still consider this unfair and whilst I agree that paying members should get better benifits I don't consider discrimination on holiday entitlement to be one of them. I am a memeber of onother site and whether you are a member or not Holidays are not an issue. I did consider making myself a member but I wouldn't consider a tiered system of memebrship to be  the way forward. I would have said certain restrictions for non memebrs and one price for full memebrship and full access to the site.
