Home ELO rating using exel/google sheets?

Ahoy mateys.  I play frequently at home with the ankle biter and he has been writing down the results.  My goal is to transfer the results to a spreadsheet and have it come up with an ELO or glicko, or frankly ANY rating for us as we continue to add in more results daily.  Anyone already have said spreadsheet?

I have a hand written list of wins/losses/draws in games with me and my son.  I would like to input these into a spreadsheet that would give us a rating for home bragging rights.  I am curious if anyone already has created such a spreadsheet.

I haven't done it, although it doesn't sound that difficult (well, as long as you stay away from the Glicko stuff). The main problem I see is that the Elo equation only gives you a relative rating. At some point, someone has to be assigned a reference rating, unless you just want to stick with saying stuff like "I'm +160 elo points above my son", etc. Do either of you have any kind of official rating? (USCF, etc.)

btw, I'm no spreadsheet expert; I've only made one or two simple spreadsheets in the past.

Why not just play here? They will do the work for you.

/ Is your "ankle biter" also known as "El Horno"?

Ya we sometimes play here when possible.

BTW for anyone curious I found an excel addon called "excel chess ranking assistant" which does this. (tons of other stuff that I'm not really interested in but ya)

It might be on the up-and-up, but it always makes me a little nervous when I'm offered an executable from someone I don't really know that well. Hope it works out for you. :-)

P.S. - VirusTotal had 4 malicious hits out of 73. It could have just been false positives, idk.

Here are the FIDE Regs for converting a difference in total scores into a difference in rating points:

https://handbook.fide.com/chapter/B022017

The relevant table is 8.1a

For example, a 3-to-1 (75%) difference in scores (eg: scoring 12 points out of a possible 16) equals a 200 point difference in ratings.

The scale of the ratings (eg: 1200, or 1600, or whatever) is arbitrary. Just use your chess.com rating to scale it.

I just downloaded this add in to run our local chess club and it seems fantastic!
