The problem arises when people give up a good position in order to try a trick...

one of the worst ways to play chess, we have all been guilty of hope chess at some point. here are some GREAT hope chess( I know some of these are not terrible moves, but they are still hope chess to some extent.) strategies:
1. bishops belong in corners.
maybe your opponent won't see them.
2. move the horsey a lot.
they will never see where it's going.
3. play any check that could lead to a potential fork.
self explanatory.
4. allow En passent all the time.
maybe they will play it without seeing the discovery.
5.play the bongcloud.
they might think you are Hikaru and resign.
6.cut the opponent's king's head most of the way off before playing.
when it falls off, you can claim they resigned.
7. offer "hanging" pieces.
Deep Blue tried this on Garry Kasparov, so it is worth a shot.
