Of course it's normal, point fluctuations are very natural and to be expected. The randomness of who you play and the randomness of how your brain and body feel and interact on different days is a very powerful influencer in how well you play in a game. In my opinion I would be far more suprised if you play a lot WITHOUT any fluctuations up and down, it would be a statistically strange phenomenon. And besides 200 or so points is like almost no difference

It''s normal. It's not always clear why. I don't buy biorhythm theories, but it was demonstrated to me by a student in the high school chess club I sponsored in the 90's that my OTB chess rating fluctuated in sync with my alleged intellectual, emotional, and physical biorhythms. That shows there's some kinds of ups and downs going on, though I think it's related more to what's on one's mind or how one is feeling due to sleep or recent physical action/diet sorts of things.
Maybe something you don't even realize is distracting you. I've lost 90 point in tactics - and a similar amount at another site since June 22, when I had same-day surgery on my left shoulder rotator cuff. There hasn't been much pain, but I've had to think about doing a lot of things differently for several weeks.

I just lost 100 points too. I hate that! There has been times where I get it back the next day and one time I lost 200 points and it took me something like 6 weeks to get them back.. wtf? haha
I lost more than 200 points in blitz in the past week.I don't know why this happens to me.It has never happened before.Maybe i should play less and study more! Any comments and .
They changed my schedule at work, mother recently passed, wife wants to be a parent but I don't know if I'm ready. That's the situation with my life outside of chess. I know I'm in bad shape so I haven't played in otb in almost a year.
In your case, you worry when your online rating goes down because you lost some blitz games? My greatest condolences for you. Wait till you have grownup problems.

OP didn't say it is a big problem, only trying to know how to act.

What the f*** does that even mean??
Are you tryyyyying to say I act like a child in this topic?
I just lost the woman who bore me and breast fed me you son of a bitch
The trick is not playing at all when you're feeling or playing poorly.
Uncle Jalavan say to play in all body states. If tired or thinking about other things, like women, you can lose points, but points will return when women no longer occupy brain. The only body state not to play is sick or hungry like wolf.
