What do you mean by "Even today" Chris?

RonaldJosephCote

I think he's refering to the recent incident where Hou  MAY have thrown a game.

There's not really any question that this IS what happened.

RonaldJosephCote

I didn't follow all the details of that incident and I don't think that any of us are privy to what goes on behind the scenes of high level chess tournaments, but even if she did throw a game, big deal, so what, who cares, we've all had bad days, we've all resigned before.

Strangemover

Sure, she made silly moves in protest at the pairings which she felt were deliberately placing her vs other women rather than the top male players present. Whether she was correct in her suspicions or actions has been debated to death on these pages and othets, but she most certainly did 'throw' the game. I think the guy was just saying that if Judit were to return to play now after many years away she would be stronger than Hou anyway.

RonaldJosephCote

I thought that too, but the time line of the thread was started before the game in question was started.---  Dec 2016.

Kpop4Life

is judit polgar someone related to Susan polgar or am I really wrong?

GM_chess_player

Hou Yifan would win because she's 1# in women

Why?

A game, who knows, in a match, Hifan is no match.

lofina_eidel_ismail

still feel she left too early, ... .....hoping she would reconsider retirement. Judit Polgar sure had some fabulous games. Truly deserving to be in the Greatest Ever list.

SilentKnighte5

Yifan just got embarrassed in her match against Ivanchuk. Polgar had an almost even record against him.

Polgar wins
