how accurate are ratings in chess.com?

In my opinion:
Chess.com ratings are fairly accurate. It reflects skill relative to other players on chess.com, mostly once you’ve played enough games for your rating to stabilise. However, these ratings are not directly comparable to official FIDE or over-the-board ratings, as online ratings tend to be inflated by around 100 to 300 points. For example, a Chess.com Rapid rating of 1500 might correspond to a FIDE classical rating closer to 1200–1400. Additionally, ratings can fluctuate significantly during your first 10 to 30 games and may slowly decrease over time as more players join. Comparisons with other online platforms like Lichess also show differences, with Lichess ratings usually higher by about 100 to 200 points.
