yeah, I did actually reach 1700 on Blitz. I have never taken it as seriously as Rapid. I use it to test out openings , and instead of puzzles. Good tactical training, but not so good for long term planning and accurate calculations.
How accurate is the Blitz rating on here? The level seems incredibly high at the moment. I am almost 1900 on the Rapid time controls but can barely get above 1500 on Blitz. What is going on?
Players rated 1450-1500 seem to know just about EVERY opening there is, they dont fall for any gambits and their end game play is usually extremely good too. Under such time pressure I would expect them to make more blunders, but they actually make less than on Rapid and a lot less than on Lichess. I always run the analysis after games and I am seeing over 80% and often over 90% accuracy for some really unusual openings. I try to pick the most rare defenses and gambits but quite often it makes no difference. It really is unbelievable at times.
I guess I should not really care about a number but I want to know what my "true" rating is. Closer to 1900 or closer to 1500? I did have a personal goal of reaching 2000, but I dont think it will ever happen on Blitz.
