I understand this. Sometimes when I play longer games, I end up overthinking instead of just finishing simple tactics.
HOW AM I PLAYING 3 MINUTE GAMES BETTER THAN 30 MINUTE GAMES
In the 3 minute game your opponent screwed up the opening so from move six you had a very good position, were allowed to develop safely and your position never got challenged.
In the 30 minute game your opponent kept challenging you until you made a critical error at move 18, from there it went downhill and your opponent never allowed you to recover.

Certain time controls suit different players; nothing wrong with that at all. I think the best time control is where you can process accurate moves within the time limit.
I recently experimented with bullet and blitz to now where rapid games bores me. I do appreciate how speed chess is more instincts and not reliant on finding the best moves. Also, it’s fun to just bust out moves for the sake of making a move. Lastly, you get more games and gain experience playing bullet. I use bullet exclusively to work on new openings and defences.
Adjusting back to rapid, I am struggling with patience and finding the critical moves at the right time because I find myself lullaby with too much time left.

Yeah I guess that's true.

I suspect that those players who regularly play 30 minutes better than you do actually experiences a greater drop in quality of play as you probably do in 3 minutes games (or maybe you even improved!) under time pressure, leading to your superiority in quality over your opponents.
