In what time control? I can help you in rapid, blitz and bullet. My tips would mainly depend on the time control.

Okay. Don't listen to @HangingPiecesChomper, he's a troll. First, let's talk about rapid. You don't have to waste your precious time on learning opening theory, learn a few easy openings (chess.com's recent article about Openings with white for beginners can help a lot). Before you move, always blunder check. Ask these questions to yourself: "Does this hang a piece?" "Does this allow the opponent checkmate?". And always ask yourself when the opponent moves: "What's his plan?". I advice you the confirm each move setting in Settings>Play>Live. This helps you to not misclick and do better blunder check. Do puzzles. On chess.com you have to pay for more than three, so possibly go to lichess (but just for this). With puzzles, you can learn basic tactics, which is very important. Always have a plan, as Mikhail Chigorin said: "A poor plan is better than no plan at all". Learn endgames. This is very important. You must learn how to mate with King and Queen against King, King and Rook against King, and King and Bishop pair against king. You must learn how to win a King and Pawn vs. King endgame, and how to draw it from the other side. You also have to learn how to use your advantages. Learn rook endgames. Of course, I could list a lot of endgames, but these are the most important (but learn the others too!). Suggested time control: 15|10. Okay, now it's time for blitz. If you reach rapid 1300 (or preferably a lot more), then you can play blitz. Before, it just worsens your thinking. Here, do NOT use confirm each move setting (except for 5|5, but I don't suggest you that time control). Here you can use your rapid knowledge. One blitz specific advice: Use the clock as your weapon! I won several blitz games on time in a worse position. Don't worry if your blitz rating is much lower than your rapid rating, blitz is generally harder. Time control suggestion: 3|0 or 5|0.

Okay, my message got too long for the application, I'll say here the rest:

Also, analyse your games. Always. This is very important. Learn from your mistakes.

Rating does not matter. You are still a troll. Your advice does not help to get better. I want to have higher rating than you just to prove you wrong!

You're a troll, because instead of giving real advice, you give this nonsense - which is designed to confuse and mock lower rated players.

Rating has nothing to do with being a troll. You could give valuable advice if you chose so, but instead you chose trolling.

Yeah, @Magipi, for the first time you are completely right.

#14 great advice. You even mispelled it.

Answer waste way too much time trying to get better at a game to feed your ego.

My advice is to learn and apply general principles. If you become a stronger chessplayer, your rating at every time control will increase.

in the opening, develop quickly, occupy or control the center, castle early.

In the middlegame, pay attention to pawn structures—isolated, doubled, backward, passed pawns, control open files, avoid weakening your king safety, keep improving the position of your pieces.

In the endgame, create and push passed pawns, fix your opponent’s pawns on the color of his bishop, keep your rooks active, bring your king to the center after your opponent can no longer muster a mating attack.

These general principles should become automatic. Don't worry about memorizing opening variations until you get to the 1800s.

Chomping on hanging pieces is a good idea. Usually, it is a bit more than that, though. I recommend the caro-kann defense and the Italian game; if you are already comfortable with other openings, though, play them. Always look for hanging pieces, even pawns. Sometimes, you can castle to the Queenside if your attack is stronger or equally as strong as your opponents, and if you are skilled at attacking chess. The games of master players can be insightful. Deeply analyze your games; see what the engine recommends and go through the lines to see why the engine's lines are better. Watch Gothamchess and Hikaru, especially the game recaps and Hikaru's educational speedruns. Avoiding blunders and capitalizing on advantages is how you improve. Limit your rapid games to 1-3 15+10 games per day. I personally play 1 15+10 game per day. Good luck!

#16 stop it. Is everyone a troll here?!

Making an opening repertoire and knowing basic ideas in the opening would help, your repertorie should be ambitious, center driven, not some opening like London system (non ambitious the way people teach online), Kings Indian Defense (Not center driven), you can rule out more openings like that.
Ideally that repertoire should offer you attacking positions in your games, attacking chess is basically the meta to break 1500 rating here. If you have doubts in making ur opening choices you can dm me.
